Native Fruit and Nuts- Nature’s Candy
A delicious blend of native fruits and nuts- some you’d never know were from North America: persimmons, blueberries, mulberries, cranberries, black walnuts and more. Variety may vary depending on the season.
A Bit of History
The earliest sugars in North America came from fruit, as well as corn and bark. Native Americans used fruit as a food and medicine and, given its natural sugar, a preservative. The dried fruit provided sustenance in the cold winter months. Later, it was significant to the enslaved people and Civil War soldiers.
