A Bit of History
The Quakers of England may have invented the chocolate bar, but American-born Milton Hershey added the almond as an inexpensive filler people would love. Nut-filled candies became all the rage in the fabulous years of bridge games, from the 1920s through the 1950s, with chocolate-covered raisins, almonds, and peanuts.
