A Bit of History
These elegant candies of the sugar plum family were first made in 1591. Each flavor is delicious, refreshing, and sophisticated, but also charming in their beautiful tins. They were originally made for well-to-do ladies as an after-dinner mint and digestive- each candy took weeks to create. Their descendants: the Jaw Breaker (turn-of-century) and Fireball (1950s). Each candy still takes about 14 days to make and has up to 100 layers.
