Grandmother’s Purse, Selection of Favorites
A collection of favorites that grandmas and grandpas have enjoyed and passed onto the grandchildren for decades: Chic-O-Sticks, Lifesavers, Canada Mints, sour balls, Bit ‘O Honey, old time chewing gum and many, packaged in a reusable plastic purse. Candies may vary depending on availability but the time period and purpose remains the same.
A Bit of History
The collection made of memories: this bag contains the candy grandmas have dished out of their purses and grandpas out of their pockets. And why? Because they, and their parents, remembered the sugar shortages of the Depression and wars. Later, the sugar-based candy became a symbol of affluence and love and a reminder that things are all right.
