A marriage of rich dark chocolate with a liquid filling that enlivens your taste buds: together they make a most satisfying union. As for the history: Originating in Renaissance-period apothecaries, the cordial was an alcohol-based medicine – and aphrodisiac – made with fermented fruits, spices, and herbs to stimulate the heart and improve circulation. Eventually cordials became a fruit-based alcohol and in the late 1800s, a candy that was deliciously decadent and alcohol-free. This version of the cordial is entirely new, but carries the tastefulness of its predecessors. Come with 8 ounces of candy, tucked in a stand-up bag with the history of the label.
