British Wine Gums
These gums really are delicious: a firm gummy texture, each with a full, fruit flavor. Don’t be surprised to see the name of the wine on each of them – the flavor doesn’t match the wine, but they’re so good, who cares? (Port is our favorite.) 4 oz heat-sealed bag with the history on the label.
A Bit of History
Made in 1800 in London by Charles Maynard at time of great candy innovation and the rising popularity of its parent candy, the Turkish delight. Maynard named the gums after wines, although they contained no alcohol…and didn’t taste like wine. As time has proven, they do taste delicious.
