Biblical Taste of the Bible – Pomegranate
These pomegranate-flavored candies are unique – sweet with a slight tartness that’s delicious. It’s amazing that this ancient flavor is not more prominent today! These come in a six-ounce bag with the story on the label and a reusable tie.
A Bit of History
The pomegranate, a native from Iran to the Himalayas, was cultivated throughout the Mediterranean and MidEast since ancient times. The plant was esteemed for its beauty, abundance, and symbolic value, representing fertility: some believe the apple in Eden was the pomegranate. The pomegranate remained a significant fruit in the Mediterranean and Middle East but never had a sizable presence in North America until recently.
